If you're looking for a destination that combines breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and warm hospitality, then Jordan should definitely be on your bucket list. Let me take you through my journey to Wadi Rum and Petra, where I stayed at the luxurious Bubble Hotel and had some unforgettable adventures.
The Arrival: A Warm Welcome to Jordan
From the moment we landed in Jordan, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The drive from the airport to Wadi Rum was filled with anticipation.
As we approached the desert, the landscape transformed into a mesmerizing expanse of red sand and towering rock formations. It felt like stepping into another world.
Staying at the Luxury Bubble Hotel:
A Night Under the Stars
Our home for the next few nights was the Luxury Bubble Hotel in Wadi Rum. Imagine sleeping in a transparent bubble with the vast desert stretching out before you and the night sky twinkling above. It was like being in a dream!
The bubbles were surprisingly spacious and equipped with all the comforts of a high-end hotel. But the real magic happened at night.
As the sun set, the sky turned into a canvas of brilliant colors. Once darkness fell, the stars came out in full force. I've never seen so many stars in my life!
It was as if the entire universe was putting on a show just for us. We lay back on our comfy beds, gazing up at the Milky Way, feeling a profound sense of peace and wonder. If you're a stargazer or just someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, this experience is a must.

Exploring Wadi Rum: The Desert Adventure
Wadi Rum, also known as the Valley of the Moon, is a place of raw, untamed beauty. We spent our days exploring the desert with local Bedouin guides who shared their knowledge and stories about the area.
Riding camels through the dunes, we felt like true adventurers. The landscape was dotted with ancient petroglyphs and hidden canyons, each with its own unique charm.
One of the highlights was climbing the towering rock formations to get a panoramic view of the desert. The sense of solitude and the vastness of the landscape were awe-inspiring.
Our guides prepared a traditional Bedouin meal for us in the desert, cooking over an open fire. The food was simple yet incredibly flavorful, and the experience of dining under the open sky was unforgettable.
Petra: A Journey Through Time
No trip to Jordan would be complete without visiting Petra, the ancient city carved into rose-red cliffs. Walking through the narrow Siq, a natural rock corridor, we finally emerged to see the iconic Treasury building. It was even more magnificent in person than in pictures. The intricate carvings and the sheer scale of the structures left us speechless.
We spent the day exploring the various tombs, temples, and amphitheaters that make up this archaeological wonder. Each corner we turned revealed another stunning sight.
The Monastery, perched high on a hill, offered a challenging hike but rewarded us with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
The People and the Food: Jordanian Hospitality at Its Best
Throughout our journey, we were continually impressed by the kindness and generosity of the Jordanian people. Whether it was our guides, the hotel staff, or the locals we met along the way, everyone went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
Their pride in their culture and heritage was evident in every interaction.
And let's talk about the food! Jordanian cuisine is a delightful blend of flavors and textures. We feasted on dishes like mansaf (a traditional lamb dish with yogurt sauce), falafel, hummus, and fresh salads. Each meal was a culinary adventure, and we savored every bite.
Reflecting on the Journey
As I sit here reminiscing about my trip to Wadi Rum and Petra, I can't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. Jordan is a land of contrasts – from the stark beauty of the desert to the ancient grandeur of Petra, from the luxurious comfort of the Bubble Hotel to the simple pleasures of a Bedouin meal.
This journey was not just about seeing new places; it was about connecting with a rich culture and experiencing the warmth of its people.
